If you are a computer science, coding instructor or even a STEM teacher, then THIS SESSION IS FOR YOU! Our engaging session will put you in the shoes of your students and help you gain relevant insight into how to convert your computer science courses into a problem-based learning model. Use real-world problem solving to engage your students and improve their soft and academic skills!

We will use both code.org and Apple Swift Learn to Code curriculum materials during the presentation. Come prepared with an iPad or MacBook pro with the Apple Swift Playgrounds app downloaded [it's free]. It would also be beneficial to sign up with an account on the code.org website [it's also free].

Rockin' Rubrics trails new paths for student-centered learning and empowered classrooms by engaging in key innovations in rubric creation and use. By focusing on efforts to increase student engagement, improve student-teacher conversations, and bring the classic rubric into the modern classroom, this session will serve as a springboard for innovative rubric creation. For this session, you will not need a device although you are welcome to bring them and use them as you see fit. This session is intended for all audiences with all levels of experience.
