Everyday we ask our students to design and create. Prototypes. Graphics. Videos. Presentations. Solutions. However, supporting those students through a creative process is often overlooked. We simply provide students with a rubric, a device, a due date and we say, “Go!” What we are left with are default fonts, pixelated images and poorly constructed models. Learn how to support student creativity by introducing them to a design process, inexpensive classroom hacks, and simple tools and materials.

What if students could learn anything they wanted? What questions would they ask? What would they explore? What might they create? In this session, participants will hear about the process and discoveries of providing elementary students the opportunity to learn through Passion Projects. Participants will have access to the resources and scaffolds used during the project. Student examples will be shared along with lessons learned.
